MISS ALYSSA'S BIO
Alyssa first fell in love with the sport of baton twirling at the age of 8, where she picked up a baton and never looked back. She began taking recreational classes at the Indus Rec. Centre after her previous dance teacher had moved away. Eagerly coming to class, Alyssa always wanted to learn something new. During her first year of twirling, she performed in the Calgary Stampede Parade, where she also received the “Practice Award” taking home her first trophy. Within her second year of recreational classes, Alyssa watched a competition in Airdrie, Alberta and instantly knew this is something that she wanted to do. Going Competitive at the age of 11, Alyssa quickly advanced through the beginner levels of competitive baton. She holds multiple provincial, national and international titles, including a bronze medal for Team Canada in 3-Baton and Artistic Pair. With more than a decade of experience, she continues to compete occasionally, as well as coach and mentor athletes who share the love for the sport. In 2020, Miss Alyssa received the Alberta Baton Rookie Coach of the Year award. She is very passionate about learning and holds a diploma in Chemical Laboratory Technology and will be returning to school to study Biology and Environmental Science. In 2014, she became the Alberta Athletes Representative, a member of the Canadian Athletes’ Commission, a position still held today. She has also completed her L1 and L2 coaches training, M3 judges training under the Canadian Baton Twirling Federation. Looking for a new challenge, Alyssa founded Remix Baton Club to which she is incredibly dedicated to and the world of baton.

Tessa Zucht
BATON AND DANCE INSTRUCTOR
MISS TESSA'S BIO
Tessa started baton twirling at the age of 7 and has continued ever since. She is a provincial and national titleholder from previous years to the present. She also competed at Twirl Mania, an international competition and finished in 5th place. Tessa has competed in the sport off and on over the years, but her love for baton never changed. She has decided to pursue coaching in the hope of spreading the scope of baton twirling and share how amazing it truly is. Tessa first started baton in Airdrie Alberta, with a highly competitive team and became very competitive herself. Not in the matter of winning but beating her personal bests, this is the drive she wants to encourage younger athletes to have not just baton but everything they do in life. Tessa has taken this drive further and will be attending Mount Royal University in the fall. This year as always, she has returned to the one thing she loves - baton twirling.
